FomoBeacon ("we", "us", or "our") operates the FomoBeacon platform at fomobeacon.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using FomoBeacon, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or GitHub, your name and profile picture from those providers. During onboarding, we also collect your display name, username, country, and job title.

Profile information

You may optionally add a bio, avatar image, website URL, and social links (GitHub, Twitter/X) to your public profile. This information is visible to all visitors.

Content you submit

When you publish a project, we store the project name, description, screenshots, links, tools tagged, and visibility settings you provide. Public projects are visible to all visitors; private projects are visible only to you.

Usage data

We collect basic usage data such as page views and project view counts to improve the platform. We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers or sell usage data to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To display your public profile and projects to other users
• To send transactional emails such as Magic Link sign-in and notifications (via Resend)
• To improve and operate the FomoBeacon platform
• To aggregate anonymised tool usage data for trend rankings

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember your language preference. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. Anonymised, aggregated data (such as tool usage counts) may be retained indefinitely.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and personal data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing
